How would you summarize "The Two Grandmothers" by Olive Senior?

Olive Senior's "The Two Grandmothers" is the story of a young girl whose maturation is shown in her changing attitudes towards her grandmothers. As a child, the girl states a preference for her "country grandmother," Grandma Dell. Grandma Dell raises livestock in rural Jamaica and enjoys participating in her community, especially by going to church. Grandma Elaine, the girl's "town grandma," is cosmopolitan, interested in dating wealthy men, and focused on her appearance. As the young girl gets older, her preference for her doting, loving Grandma Dell begins to wane. Instead, she develops an interest in her Grandma Elaine, whose life of travel and luxury fascinates the teenager. This causes her to spend less time with her Grandma Dell, and by extension her "country friends" who she begins to view as inferior. The story ends with her deciding to spend a day with her Grandma Dell so she can avoid her in the future and spend more time with her more interesting Grandma Elaine.
