Captain Eaton earns his living by supplying trade from location to location. While he comes across as a bit gruff and rough, he is a man with high moral standards. For example, he is willing to supply trade of all types, but he refuses to partake in the slave trade. He refuses despite the fact that he could make a lot more money.
